We are excited to see NHS organisations within Hampshire and Isle of Wight to make it to the shortlist, spanning across different six categories. Among those to be successful is the Hampshire and Isle of Wight People and OD Collaborative.

The collaborative has been working collectively for a number of years with the aim of pooling funding, resources and expertise to benefit the various communities they serve.The work, which has achieved a number of hugely successful outcomes, has been shortlisted for Provider Collaboration of the Year.

Featuring the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board (ICB) and all six of the provider Trusts within Hampshire and Isle of Wight, the collaborative has helped recruit over 1,100 new staff into the area to support health care across local communities.With recruitment and retention a national issue, the collaborative, in partnership with their Chief Nurses, also delivered one of the most successful international recruitment programmes in England.

Helen Ives, Chief People Officer, said: “I’m really proud our work has been shortlisted for a HSJ Award. Coming together to address the opportunities and challenges that we all face has enabled us to take a much more holistic approach which has been hugely beneficial for all the communities we serve.” 

Other organisations from Hampshire and Isle of Wight to be shortlisted include:

  • Acute Sector Innovation of the Year: Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, Family Liaison Officers
  • HSJ Partnership Award: Medefer & Isle of Wight NHS Trust, Clinically assessing and mitigating risk for outpatient backlogs - A proactive Covid recovery initiative
  • Military and Civilian Health Partnership Award: Joint Hospital Group South and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, Changing from comfortable partnership to a mutually beneficial dynamic, responsive partnership which benefits patients and staff in NHS and deployment
  • Primary and Community Care Provider of the Year: Isle of Wight NHS Trust
  • Provider Collaboration of the Year: Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, Hampshire and Isle of Wight People and OD Collaborative
  • COVID Vaccination Programme Award: Solent NHS Trust, Vaccination Programme

Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony due to take place on Thursday 17 November, held at Evolution London.
